Tamandua
Tamandua was my 2nd year final group project at UH, I learnt a lot on this project, not just new techniques in Nuke and Houdini, but about the pipeline as a whole and how to properly schedule and manage your time and other's efficiently. Feedback was also a huge part of this project's learning process, learning how to implement feedback but also have the critical eye for other colleagues work was such a great skill to hone in on.

Originally the plan was to have a lot less matte painting than we actually used in the final film but feedback piled up and to make it look a little less photoreal but to have a stronger context for creature we pushed the mattepainting all the way. This shot was also an opportunity for me to learn more about iDistort and Spline warps which was what moved the trees as well as a lot more about heathaze and which gizmo can recreate that effect the best (Spoilers its HeatWave.V4)
This is my favourite shot in the film, while we were held back by the rendering on the eye ball I still really like how it turned out. it's one of the only 2 full CG shots in the film but it turned out great and a lot of the extra details like the dust really and the focus shift pushed it.

This was the first time in the film we get to see the whole of our furry friend and a lot of touch-ups were made to the groom renders in Nuke. Also this tested me as I got to integrate someone else's mattepaint into the shot but in a way that still allowed me to add details like the shadows in the background and some nicer integration into the floor.
